As of 30 June 2022, the village had an estimated population of 363 in 214 households and a population density of 3.8 persons per km². The total area of the village is 95.27 square kilometres (36.78 sq mi). Okawa is the least populated municipality in Japan, excluding municipalities affected by the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster and municipalities on excluded islands. | ||||||
