Shimonoseki (Japanese: 下関市, Hepburn: Shimonoseki-shi) is a city located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. With a population of 265,684, it is the largest city in Yamaguchi Prefecture and the fifth-largest city in the Chūgoku region. It is located at the southwestern tip of Honshu facing the Tsushima Strait at the entrance to the Kanmon Straits (also known as the Straits of Shimonoseki) across from the city of Kitakyushu and the island of Kyushu. It is nicknamed the "Fugu Capital" for the locally caught pufferfish, and is the largest harvester of the pufferfish in Japan.

3．Yamaguchi (city)
Yamaguchi (山口市, Yamaguchi-shi, literally "the entrance to the mountain") is the capital city of Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on April 10, 1929. As of February 1, 2010, the city had an estimated population of 198,971 and a population density of 194.44 persons per km². The total area is 1,023.31 km². Yamaguchi is home to the Buddhist temple, Rurikō-ji (瑠璃光寺, Rurikō-ji), with its five-story pagoda. Yamaguchi is served by Yamaguchi Ube Airport in nearby Ube.

Kudamatsu (下松市, Kudamatsu-shi) is a city in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 September 2014, the city has an estimated population of 55,119, with 24,392 households and a population density of 616 persons per km2. The total area is 89.44 km2.The city was founded on November 3, 1939, being formed by the merger of the former town of Kudamatsu, and the villages of Hanaoka, Kubo and Suetake-minami. Each of these were previously part of Tsuno District.

8．Hikari, Yamaguchi
Hikari (光市, Hikari-shi) is a city located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on April 1, 1943. It was reorganised with different borders on July 1, 1955, and October 4, 2004. As of October 1, 2016, the city has an estimated population of 51,040, and a population density of 560 persons per square kilometer (1,450.4 persons per square mile). The total area is 91.94 square kilometers (35.50 sq mi). The name Hikari itself means "brilliance" or "light" in Japanese. It is connected by railroad with a train station and route 188. Hikari is bounded with Yanai, Kudamatsu, Shunan, Iwakuni and Tabuse in the Kumage District. On October 4, 2004, the town of Yamato (from Kumage District) was merged into Hikari.

9．Nagato, Yamaguchi
Nagato (長門市, Nagato-shi) is a city in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on March 31, 1954. As of October 1, 2016, the city has an estimated population of 34,882 and a population density of 97 persons per km². The total area is 357.92 km². Nagato consists of five smaller towns that were absorbed over the past several years. The towns are Fukawa, Senzaki, Yuya, Heki and Misumi (all from Ōtsu District). Nagato also encompasses Omijima Island and the township of Kayoi. The nearby Omijima Island has many pebbled beaches and scuba diving on one of its northern beaches. The island is reached by a large road bridge which connects the Senzaki Peninsula with the southern edge of the island. There are many onsen on the southern edge of the town in Yumoto with hot springs.

10．Yanai, Yamaguchi
Yanai (柳井市, Yanai-shi) is a city located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on March 31, 1954. The interchange and the expressway is located in the east. Yanai is bounded by Hikari. As of October 1, 2016, the city has an estimated population of 32,490 and a population density of 230 persons per km². The total area is 139.90 km². On February 21, 2005, the town of Ōbatake (from Kuga District) was merged into Yanai.

12．Shūnan
Shūnan (周南市, Shūnan-shi) is a city located in east central Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. As of October 1, 2016, the city has an estimated population of 143,959 and a population density of 220 persons per km2. The total area is 656.13 km2. The modern city of Shūnan was founded on April 21, 2003, by the merger of the cities of Tokuyama and Shinnan'yō, the town of Kumage (from Kumage District), and the town of Kano (from Tsuno District). Its name is derived from the first character (周) of the name of the former Suō Province (周防国), and the character for south (南), reflecting its location, comprising much of the southern part of the old province. The city is bordered in the west by the cities of Yamaguchi and Hōfu, in the east by Iwakuni, in the southeast by Hikari and Kudamatsu, and in the north by Yoshika, Shimane Prefecture. To the south is the Inland Sea.

13．San'yō-Onoda
Sanyo-Onoda (山陽小野田市, San'yō-Onoda-shi) is a city located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. As of April 2022, the city has an estimated population of 58,978 and a population density of 470 persons per km2. The total area is 132.99 km2. The modern city of San'yō-Onoda was established on March 22, 2005, from the merger of the city of Onoda, with the town of San'yō (from Asa District). San'yō-Onoda is between Ube and Asa, and is largely an industrial town. It has a beach area called Kirara Beach, a manmade beach that has a few restaurants and a glass-making factory.

14．Suō-Ōshima
Suō-Ōshima (周防大島町, Suō-Ōshima-chō) is a town and an island located in Ōshima District, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. Suō-Ōshima was formed on October 1, 2004 from the merger of the former towns of Ōshima, Kuka, Tachibana and Tōwa, all from towns of Ōshima District. As of April 1, 2017, the town has an estimated population of 17,030. The total area is 138.17 km². Suo-Oshima has established a sister island relationship with the County of Kauai, Hawaii in 1963. A 50th Anniversary commemoration was held on Kauai in October 2013. Current Mayors Takumi Shiiki (Suo-Oshima) and Bernard P. Carvalho, Jr. (Kauai) signed a Reaffirmation of Friendship agreement.

Yuta Tabuse (田臥勇太, Tabuse Yūta, born October 5, 1980) is a Japanese professional basketball player for Utsunomiya Brex of the B.League. A point guard, Tabuse is 1.75 metres (5 ft 9 in) and 75 kilograms (165 lb). He was the first Japanese-born player to appear in a National Basketball Association (NBA) game.Tabuse has enjoyed popularity in Japan since his high school playing days, when he led his school to three straight national championships, and has been referred to as "the Michael Jordan of Japan" for his celebrity status.

Abu (阿武町, Abu-chō) is a town located in Abu District, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. The town had a population of 3,372 in 2016. In April 2022, the town received nationwide attention after it mistakenly transferred its entire COVID-19 relief budget of 46.3 million yen (c. 358,000 USD) to a resident who subsequently lost the money in online casinos.
